  Songs JW DOESN'T like!
Posted by: Andrew Prince - 10-08-2012, 11:35 AM - Forum: Ask The Band - Replies (19)

Hi all!

I've noticed a recurring theme on this forum. Whenever someone says something like, "I don't like THIS Genesis song or THAT Genesis song," JW always pipes up and says, "Yeah but there is a great version of THAT song on THIS album or THAT song performed live HERE was brilliant!"

So it's time for a showdown.... This thread is for JW to finally come clean and tell us which track he DOESN'T like and why. In fact, it should be about his bottom THREE Genesis tracks! I bet he'll chicken out, stating that EVERY Genesis track is awesome!

So, how about it JW? Smile

Hi

Do you have any rows of Jumbo jet lights yet? Big GrinBig Grin

Or maybe some large hexagonal mirrors? I'm sure I saw a couple in a skip the other day, looked like they came from a couple of old dressing tables. Big GrinBig Grin

But seriously.... (no pun)

Have you any Vari-lights? hope there is plenty of dry ice on offer as well...Wink

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but I'm a luddite with Forums!

Just wanted to say how good it was to meet all the Mama band/crew members on Saturday, from what I heard at rehearsal all Genesis fans are in for one hell of a treat!

Look forward to seeing you guys in the near future...

We Love Genesis, We Really Do!
Posted by: Mama - 06-01-2012, 10:56 AM - Forum: Ask The Band - Replies (3)

Hello all!

I thought this might be of interest to some of you.... We've realised that we're too lazy to write some stunning internet adverts for Mama, the all new UK based 'all era' Genesis tribute band. So, we've decided to run a little competition. Don't we all like a good competition?

Now, this competition is slightly different to other competitions, for a number of reasons:

1. It doesn't have many rules.
2. It doesn't (yet) have any prizes.
3. It requires some actual thought and a bit of skill - hence we're too lazy to do it!

So, what's the deal? Well, we need to create lots of little adverts to put in various places around the internet. They have to consist of two lines of text and an image. The image can be pretty much anything you like BUT it must be decent and remember that it displays small! Naked pictures of mad Genesis fans won't do!

The restrictions are simple.... One image only, the first line of text has to be no more than 25 characters long (including spaces) and the second line of text has to be no more than 135 characters long (including spaces). Sounds easy? It's not.

Each advert will have a single internet destination, so when someone clicks on it, it takes them to that destination. Obviously the text and image in the advert is dependent on the destination. Destinations can be either our Mama Facebook page, our Mama website or our Mama forum. If we send them to the Mama website, the objective must be to get them to sign up to our newsletter (have you signed up yet and if not, why not?). If we send them to the Mama Facebook page, the objective is to get them to 'like' the page. If we send them to the Mama forum, the objective is to get them to sign up and post. Simples. Smile

Actually there is a sort of prize.... come up with a winning ad and you might see your words on the internet somewhere, calling out to all those Genesis fans!

To summarise, you need to post the following:

1. The destination your ad is intended for.
2. The ad image (or some words about the kind of image you had in mind).
3. The ad heading - 25 characters or less.
4. The ad text - 135 characters or less.

Should be interesting. :-) Any takers?

Here's an example:

Destination: Mama website
Image: Mama logo
Header: Mama - Genesis Tribute (22 characters)
Text: Want to see Genesis in concert again? Well you can't because they're not touring! Come and see MAMA instead! (109 character)

Good luck! Smile

Mama.

  Calling All Stations?
Posted by: Russell Crossley - 28-12-2011, 05:22 PM - Forum: Ask The Band - Replies (9)

Hi all,

If MAMA are an 'all era' tribute band, would love to see you cover a couple or so from Calling All Stations. Still a great Genesis sounding album. Blog only mentions up to We Can't Dance.

Interesting to know if that would be a general feeling with other Genesis fans?

John, I'm sure you can pull this off. Whilst its obviously not PC vocals, then neither is Gabriel, but not sure if you've an appetite for this album?
